Dota 2 Cheats & Scripts Explained: All about dota hacks

Good afternoon, I’m sure you’ve thought about cheats for Dota at least once, because in it, as in any other game, there are game assistants and players in this market.

Especially for you, I’ve outdone myself and prepared the ultimate article, where I will fully explain what cheats for Dota are, how they work, what the risks are, and what types there are.

I may not be revealing anything new to many of you, but the market for online game hacks is a multi-billion dollar industry with its own giants. And Dota is one of the most popular and long-lived games, so believe me, there is a lot to talk about and be surprised by here.

Cheats and scripts — terminology

In Dota 2, these two words often appear together, so let’s take a look at how they differ.

Among users, scripts are commonly used to refer to individual functions that simplify gameplay, automatically use key combinations or mouse movements, or replace something.

In turn, a cheat is a program that contains all these scripts, ensures their safe operation, and provides an interface for interacting with the functions. In other words, it is a kind of complex of programs and functions.

So when you hear a word like Melonity, it refers specifically to the name of the dota cheat and the scripts it contains.

What kinds of scripts are there for Dota?

As you can imagine, there are a huge number of them. I tried to divide them into categories somehow.

• Scripts for heroes

Scripts for heroes in cheats are one of the most important categories, aimed at automating complex abilities and combinations for characters. As you can imagine, such scripts turn the most gameplay-complex heroes into simple picks, and in the hands of professionals, into weapons of mass destruction.

Essentially, they automate procs, illusion control, and item synergy. All of this happens with perfect timing.

In order not to make the article too long, I will describe and demonstrate how such scripts work only on the two most popular heroes among cheaters — Invoker and Arc Warden.

Invoker

Invoker, one of the most mechanically complex heroes in Dota 2, is simplified thanks to autocast scripts. They automate the casting and application of spell combinations: Sun Strike in conjunction with Chaos Meteor, quickly switching between Quas, Wex, and Exort. Melonity’s version allows you to bind complex combinations to a single key, making it possible for beginners to perform professional-level actions without having to memorize orb rotations.

Arc-Warden

For Arc Warden, the scripts in the cheats brilliantly handle controlling his clones and spamming Sparks. The Spark Wraith spam function automatically releases these charges in the right places, attacking enemies.

In addition, the script controls clones for farming: the user can set up clones to automatically farm creeps on the line or in the forest, directing them along efficient routes while the main hero is busy with other tasks.

Well, as you can imagine, scripts, for example, on Pudge, automate the hook, on Shadow Find they press coils, the script for Enigma helps in using Black Hole, taking into account the position of opponents and the readiness of allies, and also uses it in combination with Blink Dagger.
They will automatically send illusions to scout the area or send them across chaotic terrain to give you time to escape.
And all these calculations and computations take place in the shortest possible time.

• Visual functions and scripts

As you can see, visual functions in Dota 2 cheats are scripts that display certain information, signal something, or simply look nice.

I divided them into two main categories:

Scripts that visualize events within the game

These include scripts that visualize information coming from players on the map.

For example, displaying hidden abilities, the direction or position of their use, as well as the radius, in the case of AOE.

Display of information about wards: radius, installation location, and remaining time, as well as an indicator next to your character showing that it is within the ward’s radius.

Highlighting enemy illusions, items on the ground, indication of teleports (allied and enemy) as well as the use of smoke by the enemy team.

But that’s not all the information you’ll see about enemy heroes. As soon as the cheat sees that you can destroy an enemy hero with a single ability using your abilities and items, an indicator will appear above them.

This also includes scripts that display information directly about your hero. The most useful of all such functions is VBE, or Visible by Enemy.

This script uses a beautiful animation (specifically in Melonity) to signal that your character is within the field of vision of enemy heroes.
It is worth noting that all visuals in this section can be customized and selected from the options provided.
For example, here are the possible VBE indicators:

Continuous information

As far as you know, there is information in Dota that is constant and is not triggered by player actions on the map.

Such data is displayed in readings as HUD elements.

MetaPicker and Builds on heroes

This is a relatively recent development. The principle of operation is as follows: the script analyzes the current meta based on dotabuff data, your team’s draft, and your opponent’s draft, and based on this data, it calculates the best pick and build for the hero.

Skinchanger(inventory changer)

In general, the skinchanger is a completely separate module, but I would still classify it as a visual element. I think you have a pretty good idea of what it does: it adds all skins, arcane items, landscapes, weather effects, and items directly to your inventory.

However, there are several options for its technical implementation. Quite recently, Melonity introduced an option that completely replicates the mechanics of applying Valve skins, which is why the FPS does not drop during gameplay.

However, that’s not all cheats are capable of. For example, you can play on Valve servers on a unique landscape — Low Poly or play with custom skins.

• Supporting Scripts

One of the most extensive sections of cheats in terms of functionality and impact on gameplay.

Here you will find scripts and hacks that automate or modify gameplay beyond your character’s abilities.

Last Hit

One of the most important scripts, which automatically kills creeps when their HP is exactly one hit. Inside, this script calculates the damage dealt to creeps by towers, other creeps, and enemy heroes, which is not as easy as it seems, because there is also the factor of misses.

Camera Hack

One of the most difficult to implement and useful scripts in the cheat. With it, you can zoom in and out on the map with the mouse wheel, as if you were playing Starcraft. To be honest, Dota without this script seems extremely inconvenient, and you will do everything you can to get back to playing with it.

Auto Pick, Ban Heroes

A fairly simple script that allows you to select heroes that the cheat will automatically ban and pick during the draft. Just a nice addition that reduces the routine.

Auto Dodge

It is also one of the most useful scripts, which automatically dodges enemy abilities. For example, Hook of Pudge or various stuns.

When activated, it uses all possible items and abilities that allow the hero to quickly change their position, or takes control of the hero for a short period of time to avoid enemy abilities.

MapHack

One of the fundamental functions of every hack, which reveals the enemy’s position in the fog of war. It can be classified as an auxiliary function, but I decided to highlight it because of its importance.

You may have already seen an example of maphack in action in one of the screenshots above.

At the moment, it does not show the enemy’s position in the fog of war in real time, since Valve recently changed the way the fog of war works, which is why it became impossible to obtain the position using Dota 2 data.

Courier maphack

Quite recently, melonity managed to expand the functionality of the map hack in cheats by adding information about couriers, but unlike enemy heroes, it is possible to obtain their exact position and the contents of their inventory. This will allow you to prevent the enemy from obtaining important items.

Safety guarantee when using cheats

As you understand, no one can ever give a 100% guarantee that your account will not be blocked in the game. Most people play with cheats in Dota because it opens up the game in a new way, giving people the opportunity to experience emotions from the game that they haven’t felt in a long time.

However, there are currently ways to protect against VAC in cheats that guarantee almost 100% protection against it. I suggest we take a brief look at how VAC works so that you can gain a deeper understanding of what we are talking about.

How does VAC work?

There are two main types of anti-cheats in games: server-side and client-side, the latter having several levels of access.

VAC has a client module that is responsible for checking the integrity of game files, as well as a server module that checks what orders you send to the server with mouse clicks, etc. There are a whole bunch of such checks, which cannot be listed here.

There are also kernel anti-cheats that run directly in the BIOS, such as Vanguard or Faceit. These are often cited as the best anti-cheats, but their design is also their biggest drawback.

Unlike VAC, which only monitors the game itself, these anti-cheats have full access to the files on your computer. This means that Vanguard, for example, could potentially access your data if it wanted to. There are no documented cases of this happening, but there are warning signs. Moreover, similar anti-cheats have learned to bypass the hypervisor, and teams from Riot and Faceit are currently working on this issue.

But don’t think that VAC is a bad anti-cheat. As someone who is familiar with the development of protection systems, I hasten to convince you otherwise: VAC is one of the best and most difficult anti-cheats to bypass.

Valve has managed to get the absolute maximum out of the possible access to the computer and continues to improve it. Cheats are also evolving along with it, but let’s be honest, there is only one truly stable cheat available right now, which has been proving itself for over 7 years.

Humanizer and protection in Dota 2

As you can tell from the name, Humanizer hides cheat actions so that they are indistinguishable from actions taken without cheating. This module is primarily designed to protect against VAC-Live (in-game server checks) and patrols. In other words, your replays look legit.

Below is a showing of humanizer with creepblock enabled. It demonstrates how it hides the camera position and mouse clicks.

Now let’s summarize everything i’ve said above.

By the way, if you’d like to try cheats for CS2, Deadlock, or other games available on Steam without worrying about your account, I recommend this cheat store for CS2, Deadlock, and other games. I personally vouch for it.

FAQ

  • What methods exist to protect against VAC?
Cheats hide from server checks using a module that mimics human movements called Humanizer.
  • What cheats exist for Dota, and which one is the best?
Currently, there are about 3 cheats that are regularly updated and support their product. I would say Melonity is the best and most reliable, but you have your own mind
  • Do Dota cheats cover every aspect of gameplay?
Not only do they cover every aspect, but they also create new ones, without which playing Dota would be unrealistically boring and inconvenient. Currently, there are over 200 scripts, which I think speaks for itself.
  • Do cheats in Dota give you an undeniable advantage over all other players?
Absolutely yes, but if you play Dota poorly without a cheat, it won’t make you the top 1 in the region. They simplify the gameplay, please the eye, and do everything to ensure you get the most enjoyment out of the game, but you won’t stop being a noob (although if you get used to it, there’s a good chance you’ll make it into esports xD).

Thank you all for reading this article. I recommend checking out the others on my profile; they are just as interesting and shorter.
