Top skinchangers and inventory changers for Dota 2 — Best of the best
Good afternoon, everyone interested in playing with beautiful skins and visuals, but unwilling to pay the GDP of some small Middle Eastern country. Today I wrote an article just for you, gathering all the best skinchangers for Dota in one place.

1. MetaSkins.gg
MetaSkins is one of the oldest, most reliable, and technologically advanced skin replacement programs. I have been following them for quite some time and can say with confidence that they have been around for about 12 years.
They used to be called dotachanger, but after merging with the femida.io and zeerchanger teams into a single structure, they became known as metaskins. Now you can find them at this site.
Let’s go briefly over the pros:
- Custom Skins.
2. MetaPicker — helps you choose a hero in real time based on the current meta and mathematical calculations. When forming the rating of the best pick, the choices of allies and opponents are taken into account.
3. Low Poly Map(Mod) — low-polygon landscape for a dota that can increase FPS.
4. A unique way to apply skins, similar to Valve’s, which does not reduce FPS.
5. Access to all in-game skins, arcanas, couriers, landscapes, and weather.
6. Ability to set custom lighting, trees, river, cursor trail.
7. A meta-based build assistant that fits perfectly into the Dota interface itself.
8. Counter-Strike 2 changer directly in launcher.
9. Assistant in setting up wards — highlights the best places for installation.
The list turned out to be quite long, so I tried not to go into detail about each feature. It’s better to try it yourself, considering its reliability and quality — it’s the best choice among all skinchangers for Dota, trust me.

2. dota2changer
Another skin changer that has been around for quite some time, but not as long as the first place in the ranking.
This particular skin changer is a little inconvenient to use because in order to install a skin, you have to download it separately from the website and move it to the launcher folder.
It does not open all game arcana, landscapes, and visuals, only some of them, but it has a lot of custom skins and other visuals that are monetized by them. You buy a subscription to custom visuals separately, that is, each pack costs a separate amount of money per month, which makes it quite expensive and i think they have most awful design o_O.
Let’s go over the pros:
- Abundance of custom visuals.
- Despite all the inconveniences and drawbacks, they can still be trusted.
Overall, this is more of a niche product for people with specific needs who are willing to sacrifice their comfort for the sake of a unique visual that they really like. However, among the huge variety of skins available, it is very difficult to find something truly worthwhile, something that won’t get boring after two games.
3. Overplus
And now we come to the last place in the ranking. This is a representative of mass skin changers and the youngest in the entire ranking (although it has been operating for about 3 years).
However, it is infamous for the fact that once, because of its developers, all users of their project were banned. You may have heard the news about this.
This happened because they added very dangerous code that VAC was able to detect. The function they added was not visual, but opened all items in one of the in-game events.
Nevertheless, even it has its advantages:
- Access to all in-game skins, arcanas, couriers, and landscapes(I don’t know about the weather, as I’ve never run their program on my computer.)
- Their own version of MetaPicker, which was stolen from metaskins.
They don’t have an in-game menu, so I can’t show it to you.
Personally, I don’t recommend using this skinchanger and prefer the first one on the list, especially since it costs about the same as this one, but this way I can rest assured about my security and get a lot of unique features.
